I'm posting these numbers in case they might help anyone else, especially those who have borderline fasting numbers. I talked to my doctor and she said I should switch to the Contour and as long as my numbers were less than 95 with it I wouldn't need insulin. It could be a fluke with my One Touch testing strips, but I know there other negative reviews out there about the One Touch. I know glucose meters are not 100% accurate and can be within 20% of the actual number, but the Contour readings meant I didn't need nighttime insulin and the One Touch did. The Contour Next meter is super easy to use because it allows you to apply more blood if you dont get enough the first time. The next few days I did an experiment and tested my 1-hr post meal readings with each glucose meter and lo and behold my numbers were always lower with the Contour One. They were right in the middle of the Level 2 range. So I bought a Contour Next One off of Amazon, which came with a control solution so I could test the strips. Includes Contour Next One blood glucose meter, user guide, quick reference guide, and carrying case For self-testing, monitoring and management of blood glucose Proven accuracy No coding. The price of test strips was also a major factor in my decision to buy this meter. Plus, the One Touch didn't come with a control solution so I couldn't test the strips. It's compact, easy to use, and with the exception of a single error when checked against my AccuChek meter, it appears to be accurate. My fasting number was 83 when I had the 3-hour glucose tolerance test, but I kept getting numbers ranging from 95-105 with my One Touch, which would mean I would need overnight insulin. Anyway, my insurance covered the One Touch glucose meter and strips, but I always felt like my numbers, especially my fasting numbers were off. We like that the app tracks your personal data and make it easy to navigate between different values. The test strips went in OK, and the drop of blood was taken in easily by the meter. That was top of mind for me after trying out the Ascensia Contour Next ONE meter, the latest in the line of Contour meters from the company formerly known as Bayer. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared this meter in November 2016. The meter is small, portable and has great technology offered in a user-friendly way. It’s often the little details that translate to the biggest benefits when it comes to taking care of your diabetes. I'm a FTM and I was recently diagnosed with GD and really upset at first, but this forum helped me realize it is definitely not the end of the world. So what is the verdict of the Contour Next One review First off the meter is easy to set up and has a user-friendly interface. Hi all! First off, I just want to say how much this forum has helped me.
